participation as the OFFICIAL KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL WINE for 2011!
The exciting announcement came just days before the official notification that FIVE
of their wines were awarded Medals at the 2011 KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL
COMPETITION: GOLD for 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, SILVER for Merlot, Riesling,
Norton (Cynthiana) and BRONZE for Vidal Blanc.

“The Commonwealth of Kentucky is so revered for the few days in May when
the world looks at our beautiful state and all we have to offer. It is a humbling
opportunity to have our local wine be a part of this monumental tradition,” said
owner and winemaker, Logan Leet. “Kentucky has shown amazing growth in this
renewed field of agriculture that potentially brings international acclaim.”

The OFFICIAL KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL WINES, including the award
winners, are available at most local retail liquor and wine stores, as well as at the winery
and are also available for direct shipping where allowable by law.

Lovers Leap wins BIG in Kentucky Proud Wine Competition!

The Kentucky Derby Festival recently announced the winners of the wine judging competition held Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Brown Hotel in Louisville. Judges from the American Wine Society gathered to score the 121 different wine samples from 17 Kentucky and Indiana wineries that entered into the competition.

The wines were competing to be the best in the region and were scored on appearance, bouquet, taste/texture, aftertaste, and overall impression.

The following Lovers Leap wines won awards in the following categories:

GOLD - Cabernet Sauvignon
SILVER - Merlot, Riesling (our best-selling white wine!) and Norton
BRONZE - Vidal Blanc

The Kentucky Derby Festival congratulates all the entries and medal winners on the 2011 Kentucky Proud Wine Competition.

Patrons will be able to sample some of these medaled bottles of wine at the Derby Festival WineFest on Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th.

A complete list of the wineries to be showcased at the event is available online at www.kdf.org. Tickets for the event are $35 and are on sale now. The ticket price includes a souvenir etched wine glass, a WineFest pin and admission to the wine-tasting session. A winetasting guide, featuring information on the participating wineries and their products, will be distributed to patrons.



Kentucky’s Lovers Leap Vineyards and Winery Awarded Silver and Two Bronze Medals At San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition

Lawrenceburg, KY – Lovers Leap Vineyards and Winery received the official notification that three of their wines were awarded Medals at the 2011 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon won a Silver, along with bronze medals for 2008 Cynthiana and 2008 Riesling. This is the largest competition of American wines in the world, receiving over 5000 entries.

“There are numerous competitions in our industry, but this one includes the most prestigious wine labels from California and across the U.S., so we are thrilled to be a medal winner” , said co-owner/winemaker, Logan Leet. Pam Leet, Logan’s wife, added, “ I am particularly proud of this honor as Logan took over this project two and a half years ago and this endorsement tells us we’re headed in the right direction. It is especially rewarding after the recent Gold Concordance Award from the Wines of the South, also for the 2008 Riesling.”

The three winners are available at most local retail wine stores, as well as at the winery and are available for shipping where allowable by law.

Frankfort, KY, October 26, 2010 - Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery has received 3 awards in the 2010 Kentucky Tourism Council Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing competition.

The Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery received its awards Tuesday, October 19 during the Traverse Gala held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, Kentucky as part of the 2010 Kentucky Tourism Industry Annual Conference.

Kentucky tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for awards in 20 separate categories during the annual competition produced by the Kentucky Tourism Council. A panel of out-of-state experts judged over 240 entries from across the state for this year’s presentation of awards.

Traverse Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing are open to Kentucky Tourism Council and Kentucky Hotel & Lodging Association members marketing a tourism product or service in Kentucky. All entries must have been published or distributed within the past year. Each entry is judged for concept, creativity, design and how well it relates to its audience.

The Kentucky Tourism Council is a Frankfort-based state association that represents every segment of Kentucky’s travel industry. The 640-member organization offers continuing education programs, works in the area of governmental relations and provides legislative advocacy for Kentucky’s travel industry.
