History

Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery

Lovers Leap was born out of a simple love for wine and the land. In 1994, the wine industry in Kentucky was a curiosity at best. The Federal Tobacco Settlement dollars encouraged numerous farmers to try something new and vineyards were a top designation. The state might not have been very enthusiastic about "Kentucky Wine" but the few pioneers were zealous.

This undying passion for the romance of great traditions in a new land proved to be contagious. In the spring of 1994 Jerry and Ann Holder planted the first five acres of vines. The location proved to be one of the best in the state and the fledgling vineyard grew to be today's 30 acres with over 10 varietals.

In 2001, Lovers Leap began producing the variety of wines that has made it famous. The winery has the capacity to produce over 35,000 gallons in steel tanks with an additional 15,000 in oak barrels. The established vineyards with the talents of the new owners promises wines that will become internationally renowned.

Lovers Leap Vineyards and Winery is the new wine you've always loved! That's because the vines were started in 1994, production of wine began in 2000 and much of what has been bottled for KY wineries had a connection to this incredible piece of land. Today's new owners, Pam and Logan Leet, have a vision that continues the legacy of Ann and Jerry Holder.
